Hello! My name is Paula Hartsfield and I would like to welcome you to Hartsfield Law! My practice is focused on estate planning and estate administration. Estate planning is a very personal process and I learn a lot about my clients and their families. So, in return, I’d like to share a bit of my own story.
I was born and raised in Tyler, Texas and live here among a various assortment of wild outdoor critters who seem to think it is my responsibility to feed them.
I have two adult children who are both married. My son, John, and his wife, Regina, live in New Jersey, and my daughter, Ivey, and her husband, Wesley, live nearby in Chandler. Ivey and Wesley are parents to my only grandchild, Tanner.
My journey to practicing law came in a roundabout way. My first career was as a teacher and then a school counselor. But after a while I knew it was time to leave that career and embark on a new adventure. So, at the ripe old age of 51 I started law school. My favorite class was on estate planning and probate. The instructor was excellent, and I knew immediately this was the area of law in which I wanted to practice.
It seems odd to many folks that I went from being a teacher/counselor to being an attorney. But practicing law allows me to teach people about estate planning and estate administration and provides me with the opportunity to counsel them regarding the decisions they need to make. It is the best of both worlds.
In addition, because I came to the practice of law after a long career in education, I tend to have a very different perspective than many attorneys who have practiced law all their lives. That difference is evident when you come to Hartsfield Law. My top priority is to ensure my clients feel welcome. There is nothing stuffy about me or my office. And the only time you will see me in a suit is when I am scheduled to go to court! I am just an ordinary person like everyone else. I just happen to be an attorney.
I enjoy taking the time to get to know my clients and to build long-term relationships with them and their families. I look forward to getting to know you and to guide you in meeting the needs of your family.
